When he has a premonition that his father is in danger, a teenage boy named Daniel leaves his home in Mississippi to search for his dad, who is hunting and trapping animals along the Oregon Trail. As Daniel searches for his father, he begins to fear that his own life is in danger, and so, seeking security, he joins up with a wagon train.
